Second-generation iPod shuffle was presented on September 12, 2006. It is about half from the previous model (41.2 x 27.3 x 10.5 mm) and weighs only 15.5 g, so that it can be carried on, or built-in to clothes. There is an integral USB plug, and must be combined with a computer cable (included doc). It is available in versions with 1 GB of memory and 2GB. With the entry of second-generation iPod shuffle was first withdrawn from sale.

The second generation iPod Shuffle can be divided into 3 versions – 2.0G, 2.1G and 2.2G.

2.0G was introduced in September 2006 and was only a silver in color with 1 GB of memory. Its serial number starts with the letters MA.

2.1G was introduced in early 2007. No different capacities, only introduced new colors (pink, blue, green and orange, silver retained). The serial number starts with the letters MA.

2.2G introduced in September 2007. In this case, it changes color, left a silver color. Pink and orange have been withdrawn, in their place appeared the colors purple and a special edition iPod Product (RED), which in addition to the color red has also that 10 U.S. dollars from profits from the sale is intended to combat AIDS in Africa.
