The first model of Nano came up for sale on September 7, 2005. It has a color LCD screen on volume of 1.5 inches, which can also display photos. You can display text of the played songs. LCD iPod Nano has been made in the TFT technology which allows the mapping of 16-bit color palette. It is thus very clear and legible, despite the resolution of 176 x 132 Interestingly, it is greater than that of the iPod mini (138 x 110), which is the result of lower spot (0168 mm instead of 0.18 mm). This allows you to display a greater amount of information simultaneously. But when the screen is not illuminated, it is difficult to see what is displayed on it. The battery of Ipod Nano first generation lasts for around 13h listening to music or 4.5 h viewing photos with music.
Ipod Nano Generation 1 3-capacity versionswere sold:
* 1GB (released for sale to 5 February 2006)
* 2GB
* 4GB
In colors:
* Black
* White

iPod nano connects to a computer by a USB plug, which also loads the internal battery. After joining the computer files can be loaded into memory using iTunes. Since there are no internal moving parts, the player is extremely resistant to shock and damage. It can also be used as part of PenDrive if memory will be reserved for that purpose. All sold so far iPod models have some common characteristics – they were small, capacious and had an attractive appearance. iPod nano is something new, it is a hybrid of the iPod shuffle, and has already withdrawn from the production of the iPod mini. iPod Nano is very small – its dimensions are 9.0 x 4.0 x 0.69 cm, which means that you can put it in your wallet in a slot for credit cards. Small size of the model meant the need to change the layout of ports. Headphone jack has been moved to the bottom of the device and found next to the standard 30-pin connector. This may cause some problems when using the accessories fitted with thicker plug. Sync iPod takes place only through the USB port, although the loading is also possible by FireWire. Thanks to the use of flash memory transition between successive screens is extremely fast. This is especially true when you view the photos – iPod Nano in this regard is clearly faster than the 60 GB iPod photo.
